Contestant Trigg Watson, as part of his magic act, asked her to draw a “special moment” from her life. Klum, known for her quick thinking and creativity, swiftly sketched a heartwarming illustration of her wedding to Tom Kaulitz, her husband.
However, in a candid backstage interview with PEOPLE, Klum revealed that she initially contemplated drawing a different life-altering moment: the birth of her children. She confessed, “In that moment I was like, ‘What are your special moments?’ I immediately thought birth.” Yet, the idea of illustrating a childbirth scene caught her off guard, and she swiftly changed her artistic direction. “So my head was going all sorts of different ways, and I was like, ‘No, no, no, no, no. Not birth. Wedding, wedding, wedding!’ I had to hurry, you know? What am I going to do?!”

Despite the unexpected artistic challenge, Trigg Watson was impressed by Klum’s drawing skills. He praised her for creating an incredible sketch of her and her husband in just 15 seconds. Klum’s choice to depict her wedding was not arbitrary; she and Kaulitz exchanged vows in a romantic ceremony in Capri, Italy, in February 2019, shortly after their engagement.
Reflecting on their marriage, Klum emphasized the strength of their partnership, describing Kaulitz as her “partner in crime.” They share a close bond, discussing everything from significant life decisions to everyday matters. For Klum, having someone she can rely on for both major and minor aspects of life is invaluable.
Klum also disclosed that she and Kaulitz occasionally watch America’s Got Talent together when she returns home after the show. However, her husband often prefers to be in the live audience to personally support her. Klum admitted that having him in the audience makes her even more nervous, given her desire to perform well when he’s present.
As fans eagerly await the results, it remains to be seen if Trigg Watson will advance to the season 18 finale of America’s Got Talent. The viewer-voted contestants who will proceed to the finale will be revealed during the results show, airing on NBC at 8 p.m. ET on Wednesday.
